Disney class: number 1
Semester: number 1
Hello everyone! Welcome to the first ever Disney class! It only seemed right to start off with the animated Disney film called “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”.
1. Basic Info
“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released in 1937, and it was the first full length cel animated feature film. This film is an adaption of the Brothers Grimm’s fairytale, but instead of being so dark, they made the film a bit brighter. It was the first film with an official soundtrack and the first film to release a motion picture soundtrack album. This film is considered to be Walt Disney’s greatest creation, and with that being said Walt Disney won a “Honorary Oscar Award” for the film’s remarkable achievement.
2. Passion, and Faith
Walt Disney’s journey to make this film was not an easy one at all. Well, to start out let’s discover how Walt’s passion, and idea for this significant film began. The idea of sitting through a full length animated feature was bizarre at the time because most animation were just shorts. Walt had the idea of creating a full length animated feature while Jim and his brother Roy Disney were in Paris to receive an award from the the league of Nations for creating his iconic character Mickey Mouse. As he was sitting there they played six consecutive Mickey Mouse shorts, and that gave him faith that a full length animated feature can work, and capture the audience. Walt Disney had a strong passion for this film, and nothing could break his faith. Even his wife Lillian Disney, and his brother Roy Disney told him that this project is too risky. He was even forced to mortgage his house because the film budget exceeded to 1.5 million dollars.
3. The Art

Classic and beautiful animation.
