Here we go again, I have to drive an hour away for my college night class.

The campus at night seems eerie, but at the same time, it’s cozy. During the day, there are thousands of students walking around campus and each living different and unique lives, but right now, I am walking alone without a soul in sight.

The darkness in the sky makes the stars shine bright. The glow from the tall street lamps guides me to my class.

I see someone up ahead, and they look lost.

I go up to them and ask, “Hey, are you lost?”

She looks at me with glowing eyes and sees straight into my soul. It is hard for me to breathe. Her beauty captures all of me.

She says, “I am looking for building B, room 204.”

I tell her, “That is where I am heading; we can go together.”

We are walking on a sidewalk that has all kinds of twists and turns. The grass is freshly cut, and the trees are hovering over us.

I ask her, “Do you believe in ghosts?”

As soon as I ask this question, she seems nervous.

“My mother. She is my ghost.” “Have you ever been to Boggy Creek?”

I was stunned and stumbled with my words.

“Isn’t that the place where people go and write their worries and problems onto rocks and then throw those rocks into the water?”

She responded seriously, looking into my eyes, “Yes, but also many people died there.”

I open the classroom door for her to go in first. She rushes to her desk on the other side of the classroom. I sit at the nearest desk by the door and in the back row. The classroom light is shining dimly, and the teacher welcomes the class, turns on a PowerPoint presentation, and turns off the lights.

I am sitting at my desk, half-listening to the teacher and thinking. That girl is so mysterious. What does she mean, people died there? Was it her mother?
