I’m reflecting on a larger disillusionment not only with celebrity culture but with the entertainment industry as a whole. There’s a growing shift in society where people are now focusing on themselves, striving to become their own celebrity.

It seems like the stars are falling.
For so long, celebrities thought they were untouchable and acted like they were different from us regular people. I never, even when I was a child, looked up to famous people. To me, they are only people with high-paying jobs.
Hollywood and its stars are falling. The celebrity image that was held so high in the past is crumbling before our eyes, and I am glad.
It might be one step closer for individuals to look within themselves for guidance rather than famous people whom they do not know.
I understand we now have internet celebrities, but they do not hold up the same as the giant Hollywood stars.
Our society is changing quickly, and I hope it changes in a positive direction.
I do feel that our entertainment industry has changed drastically in the past decade. Music and movies don’t feel the same anymore. I turn to the internet for entertainment more than I do to movies and music.
Music artists and actors have been in lawsuits, scandals, controversy, etc., more than they ever have in the past, and it is starting to affect the industry.
Spotify and streaming apps have made it impossible for artists to make any kind of real money, and if you are signed to a label, your money is taken away even more.
Netflix and streaming apps have made movies and shows, quick productions with little art and content to it, just to push out as many as they can for more money.
I have been watching Ratatouille and Monsters Inc. with my daughter, and it seems to me that Disney will never make something so creative and heartwarming again.
These movies are over ten years old, and I am showing my daughter these movies, and they are the best movies that I can show her.
I try to show her other movies that are recent, and she doesn’t care for them. One of her favorite movies is an 80’s anime, My Neighbor Totoro.
I am trying to express the disillusionment with the current state of celebrity culture and the entertainment industry, while also realizing that there has been a shift away from traditional Hollywood.
Society, at least in modern society, individuals are thinking about themselves more and want to be their own celebrity. This, of course, comes with its own pros and cons, but it is interesting to be alive to see this dramatic shift.
Never follow stars because they will only misguide you. They are not designed to help you, but only to make you spend money.
Your time and attention are the most valuable commodities that you have, and everyone wants to take them. Give it to the people and things that matter.
Life is too short for you to let them take it away from you every day, all day. Think for yourself and don’t get distracted too often.
Celebrities are a hoax; they are set up like a play. They all have their roles; some are there for you to spend money, and some are there to make you feel unimportant, like you aren’t worth it, but it’s all lies covered up in disguise.
