The Internet is Changing and So Are We

You are the new brand. Your passions, interests, hobbies, and even emotions are what set you apart from everyone else.

There Is No One Like You

Our social media platforms are no longer only about showing your friends and family your most recent vacation; now, they are about creating a brand that is you.

You are the new brand, and your likes, interests, hobbies, and even feelings are the new brand.

Companies are realizing this and are paying people to create UGC videos and blog posts for their company’s products using people’s accounts.

Somehow, we got to this point, and for years, I tried to avoid it. I would see people uploading personal content and talking on YouTube videos as if they were talking to someone in their home or out at lunch, and I thought to myself, โ€œI don’t want to reveal myself to the internetโ€ or โ€œI canโ€™t do thatโ€.

I took down all my social media accounts and deleted my blog post.

Years went by, and I was writing in my journal, and no one read it; I was creating videos, and no one saw them. I realized that social media platforms are here to stay and are only going to continue to grow.

I realized that I had to express myself, and it wasn’t a bad thing to create an authentic social media platform or brand of my true self.

I realized expressing myself online wasnโ€™t something to fear โ€” it was an opportunity.

You are unique, and no matter what, your life is a story and something that can be shared with other people. Your life is a film; you are a true piece of art.

There is no one like you, so why not create your story through writing, videos, and music?

We are heading towards a new internet, and it will be here quicker than we think.

Question

What story are you waiting to share with the world?

I am so old-school that I still use pen and paper. Even so, I feel that the power technology has over us has changed us from within, even forcing our likes and dislikes to change. Nice post!

I agree with you! I have over 15 journals I write in from thoughts to lyrics for my music that I have been writing in since I was like 14 years old. But recently this year I have been writing mostly on my computer.

Well, we always worked in a business were you stylise your yourself as a brand. I have to admit I liked it.
What does that mean being a brant?
Of course, at the beginning it was Kb’s agents trying to make us to be a brand. Then we liked it. We can be us – well, what we think we are – and express sides of us we didn’t show before. I needed an understanding agent to help me to be me in public. For many years I found it fun but now I am retired and look smilingly back to my great times, in which I understood myself much better than in any therapy.

I never thought about it that way, but I think you are right, Anthony. Social media is an opportunity to share your skills and to help people. I think it’s great if used in a positive way.
