These days are going by fast. I hate the days when we are constantly on the go and I don’t spend quality time with my wife and kids.

Every morning, we go on a walk for an hour and take in the world slowly. We talk, laugh, and make up stories. We find bugs and look at the clouds in the sky. My three-year-old talks up a storm, telling me imaginative stories, while my one-year-old points at everything he sees and speaks in his own little baby language.
I have a wagon with a canopy on top. It’s a two-seater with a table in the middle. After we walk together around a small pond, both kids climb inside the wagon and I push them around while we walk through stores, stop by the grocery store, or visit Ace Hardware. Sometimes we stop at Chick-fil-A. Their favorite thing is going to Starbucks, so I can order them a small cup of whipped cream.
The beauty of life is simple and slow.
I’ve learned that taking my time with anything in life, whether it’s walking, thinking, or talking, is the best approach for me.
When we arrive back home from our walk, I quickly get dressed for work. I grab my 32oz Hydro Flask filled with cold water and say goodbye to them. They run up to me, yelling “bye,” and we all hug and kiss each other, including my wife. I leave for work knowing that I have a purpose, that I am loved, and that the people I love know how deeply I love them.
Whenever I’m not with my family, I feel a little lost and bored. They make me feel grounded. My purpose in life is to be a father and a husband. There truly is no greater feeling to me than being those two things.
Any moment I have, I’m playing with my kids, whether it’s wrestling, playing with toys, or simply sitting around talking. Any moment I have, I’m staring at my beautiful wife, listening to her, and talking with her. I honestly get lost in her beauty daily.
She has such a genuine soul. I’ve told her since I met her 15 years ago that, if she wanted to, she could use her beauty against me. I know she understands the effect she has on me, yet she has never used it. That’s how kind she is to me.
I am grateful every day, every moment of the day, that I have my family in my life. I love life because of them.
Now, everyone’s life is different. I’m not saying you must have a wife and kids to be happy. There are a million different paths a person can take that can bring them happiness.
I’m only talking about my path.
The path I created for myself and chose to follow has truly made me happy and given me purpose.
Find yourself, fall in love, and explore life.
