Searching for a home with my family
Second visit to Celebration, FL, to see if we would want to move there. Keep in mind, we have been visiting this place for over 15 years together, and my wife spent her childhood here. We get there early in the morning, and a property manager gives us a tour of a three-story townhouse. The interior and the exterior looks nice and cozy. My kids, 1 and 3 years old, are running around and checking every room, excited to see what is new. As we are looking around the rooms, garage, kitchen, balcony, etc. I begin to imagine us living here, and I feel a bit hollow inside. I felt like it was a fit for us. I looked out the window and saw all these other homes in a row, and wondered if this was for us.
There are playgrounds, trails, a little downtown area, pools, food, and good schools, but for some reason, it isn’t clicking for me. It checks off a lot, and my kids have a blast when we go visit Celebration. For some reason, it feels too manufactured, like I am on a movie set. I always felt this way when I was younger and visited, and I kinda forgot about it or pushed it back in my mind, and now, visiting the place more frequently, these are the thoughts that arise.
Even though I have mixed feelings and I am a bit confused and feel less likely that I want to move my family here, I still feel that we are moving forward in our journey.
