When I scroll on YouTube, whether it is short-form or long form content, it seems like most videos that are uploaded on society, government, psychology, relationships etc. seem to be negative.
I feel like everyone is waiting for society to fail.
I understand that there is a lot of hardship going on in the world and in America. There is war, inflation, and division, but we are still alive.
We are alive today, and even if everything is going up in flames, we can still live.
Will the lives that we live be meaningful? With our modern society, are we able to create a meaningful existence?
I don’t have the answers to these questions, but I am trying to live a positive existence.
Even when I talk to people face to face, whether it is family, people I know, or strangers, it seems there is a negative outlook on existence.
I do not believe that this feeling is new, but rather it is a feeling that has been building up to this point for decades.
You can blame social media, politics, pop culture, etc., but if you did, then it would point to the era that we all are living in at the moment.
I am not saying to be blind to all the negative things; you should always seek truth and stay misguided.
It’s hard for me to believe in anything because of being misguided in so many different ways throughout my life.
What I am trying to say is that can’t we discuss the negative complex things that are happening around us in a more content and calmer way rather than a negative everything is going to fall apart way.
I know that doom and fear make people click the video, and emotions are triggered so viewers stay longer to watch till the end, and I understand that most people that I talk to probably watched these kinds of videos or consumed this type of content and are reflecting on what they saw that triggered their emotions.
What I am trying to express is that even in the darkest times, life is still something beautiful, unique, and worth living.
Find yourself, fall in love, and explore life.
